Periscope; qué está pasando ahí fuera?

Los que estéis más familiarizados con las redes sociales no hay duda de que sabréis de qué estamos hablando pero habrá quién aún no haya oido hablar de periscope (quién lea periscope y crea que estamos hablando de uno de esos chismes que utilizaban los submarinos para ver por encima del agua no va muy desencaminado…)

Periscope es una de las redes sociales que permiten ver y retransmitir videos en directo; No fue la primera que salió pero al ser la de Twitter parece que es la que más rápido está creciendo (más de 10 millones de usuarios) y desde que a partir de este mes se han incorporado los videos a su timeline y se pueden visualizar directamente desde la aplicación se prevé un gran aumento en su uso, de hecho dicen que en 5 años estaremos consumiendo más contenido en streaming que de manera convencional.
Vale, y para los que prácticamente no hayáis entendido nada de lo que hemos contado, hablamos de que alguien haga un video con su teléfono móvil de algo que esté viviendo; una manifestación, un concierto, un partido de fútbol y los demás podamos verlo mientras ocurre, como si nosotros mismos estuviésemos allí. 
De hecho la idea se le ocurrió en 2013 a Kayvon Beykpour que tenía planeado un viaje a Turquía cuando surgieron las primeras revueltas en la plaza Taksim, a pocos metros del que iba a ser su hotel en Estambul. Antes de plantarse allí lógicamente quería saber cuál  era el clima que se respiraba en el país. Buscaba por internet pero sólo encontraba las imágenes más sensacionalistas de lo sucedido, y muy poca información de cómo se estaban viviendo las protestas en el resto de la ciudad, por lo que se le ocurrió que sería interesante poder ver en directo la situación de las calles y plazas por las que pasearan sus habitantes. A raiz de eso creó Periscope, disponible tanto para IOS como para Android; sólo es necesario tener una cuenta en Twitter y tendrás disponibles los videos que hagan las personas a las que sigues desde el instante mismo en el que lo estén grabando, hasta 24h más tarde, por si te has perdido algo interesante, «Es más inmediato que Twitter, Instagram incluso que Snapchat. Es la vida ahora mismo a través de los ojos de quien yo elijo», dicen en la revista Wired, desde donde se plantean también el cambio que esto supondrá en el periodismo…

La verdad es que nosotras de momento nos estamos resistiendo a los videos, ni siquiera  tenemos Snapchat, pero por si acaso los Reyes Magos me trajeron el curso Videostory de Hello Creatividad que estoy deseando empezar… Siempre hay que estar preparado para lo que ya es presente 😉
